Constitution
1.
TITLE
The
name of the association shall be 'The International Tennis Photographers
Association' (ITPA) hereinafter called 'The Association'
2.OBJECTS
The
objects of The Association shall be:
(a)
To further the interest of members of The Association
(b)
To promote and project the game of tennis throughout the world
(c)
To require its membership to act in a proper and professional
manner in accordance with the Code of Conduct of The Association
and in the best interests of tennis.
(d)
To provide advice and information to tournament organizers on
the requirement of the photo-media.
(e)
To welcome visiting sports photographers from abroad and assist
them carrying out their duties.
3.
MANAGEMENT
(a)
The management shall consist of Chairman, Vice Chairman, Treasurer,
and Nine Committee members.
(b)
The committee shall meet four times a year and at other times
as may be deemed necessary.
(c)
The number necessary for a quorum is five at a committee meeting
and 25% of the membership at a general meeting.
(d)
Committee voting will be carried by the majority with the chairman
giving a casting vote.
(e)
Period of office for management shall be for one year elected
at the annual general meeting by the members.
(f)
In the event of a vacancy member can be co-opted at the discretion
of the committee.
4.
MEMBERSHIP
Conditions
of membership are:
(a) Membership shall be open to professional tennis photographers with a specific involvement in international tennis photojournalism, who have previously covered fifteen Grand Slam tournaments within a five year period.
Current members are required to cover 5 Grand Slam and 10 ATP, WTA Tour tournaments FED Cup or Davis Cup ties within a two year period to retain membership.
(b)
Candidates for membership must be nominated and seconded by a
member of The Association and receive a majority vote from the
Committee.
(c)
Members shall be required to be present at two of the four general
meetings, except in the case of extenuating circumstances.
(d)
Members in default of rules may be allowed on warning after which
a minimum of one year's suspension will be applied.
(e)
The committee shall have power to withdraw membership from a member
who ceases to meet the requirements of membership by a unanimous
vote.
(f)
Membership shall be in two categories:
1. Full membership.
2. Honorary membership which shall have no voting privileges.
(g)
Members shall abide by the code of conduct at all times.
5.
FINANCE
(a)
The financial year shall begin on the first day of June and end
on the following May 31.
(b)
The annual subscription shall be determined by resolution at the
annual general meeting and shall become payable at the Wimbledon
general meeting each year for the following twelve months.
(c)
If any member's subscription has not been paid within three months
of the due date their membership shall be deemed to have lapsed
upon twenty-one days notice in writing.
6.
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
(a)
The annual general meeting shall be held on the Thursday of the
second week of the Wimbledon Championships of each year unless
otherwise notified.
(b)
The business of general meeting shall be:
1. To receive the chairman's address.
2. To receive the audited statement of accounts for other year
ended the previous April 30th.
3. To elect officers of The Association, and the Honorary Auditors
for the ensuing year.
4. To establish the annual subscription for the ensuing year.
5. Any other business.
7.
ALTERATION OF THE RULES
The
rules of The Association shall not be altered or amended except
by a three-quarter's majority of those present at an annual general
or special general meeting.
